Contribute FeedbackUnion Grill offers a mixed dining experience with a cozy ambiance but inconsistent service. Some dishes, like the crepe appetizer, impressed diners, while others fell short with issues like salty haddock and hard gnocchi. The transition to serving pub food disappointed patrons who enjoyed the previous fine dining menu. Despite small room sizes and some food missteps, service from staff like Pam stood out. Overall, Union Grill has potential but needs improvement in maintaining menu quality and providing attentive service to match its picturesque location.
The food and service was good. We were VERY disappointed that they turned their “fine dining” restaurant into serving pub food which we could have gotten across the hall without a reservation. They used to serve oysters on the half shell (if you like seafood) and a delicious filet mignon!!!! Now, you might as well go to a bar.
Misleading grille menu posted online. Totally same menu for pub. Had to push to be seated in the grille side with hostess. Server was great. Attentive and knowledgeable. Kitchen ran out of rice and potatoes. Only side was fries. So mixed feelings on this grille and total operation. Food was fine. Pushing to sit in the quiet side is not ok where we had reserved months ago Get it together corporate!
Our service and food were excellent. My only suggestion would be to update the website as , the menu is the same in both the grill and pub. The ambiance is is nicer and the more quiet.
Found this gem. Sat outside on their patio which had an incredible view. Food was really good and the wait staff were so incredibly nice and attentive! Highly recommended and will be back on a future trip to Maine!
Food and Service was outstanding as Pam is so attentive and friendly.
