I have always heard good things, so I thought I was not disappointed, but the crust was a great surprise. in my experience vegan pizzas often have thin, even craspier, crust; easier to use a knife and fork. this crust was thick and soft; can not remember the last time I could use my hands to eat pizza. I visited a particularly compact Mellow Mushroom location, the smallest one I've encountered. The food was consistent with the typical offerings you would expect from Mellow Mushroom. However, the service was somewhat lacking, though it... View all feedback.
I love Mellow Mushrooms! This is the fourth location I've eaten at in North and South Carolina. Always a few good local beers, as well as plenty of veg and vegan options. Any place that lets me put grilled tempeh on my pizza with Daiya cheese is a winner in my book.
They marinate and pan fry the tempeh before putting it on a sandwich or pizza, and it's crazy good. I'm a creature of habit my favorite pizza at Mellow Mushroom: no cheese or butter; light vegan cheese (they use Daiya mozzarella); tempeh; pineapple; onions; and Kalamata olives. DELISH. They also have several vegan sandwich options, including a tempeh hoagie, and the hummus is pretty tasty.

It was such a great experience to enjoy vegan pizza by the beach! The food was absolutely delicious.
I had always heard great things about this restaurant, so I had high hopes going in. I was not disappointed, and the crust of the pizza was a pleasant surprise. In my past experiences, vegan pizzas typically have thin, crispy crusts that are easier to eat with a knife and fork. However, the crust at this restaurant was thick and soft, making it a pleasant change. I can't remember the last time I was able to eat pizza with my hands.
