Every mouthful was a party in our mouths. All meals were outstanding and I highly recommend Rookie. Compliments to the chef and the staff who looked after us. We can’t wait to go back and take our friends. View all feedback.
What José Molina doesn't like about Rookie Eatery:
Food was very tasty and plated beautifully. Drinks were very nice and service was good. Only let downs were: a bit overpriced for size of meals, the food was a bit cold, the basque cheesecake was awful, missed the lack of a bread option on the menu. The potato side dish was the stand out View all feedback.
Impressive! rustic, inconspicuous house opens in clean lines and open spaces. great service with excellent Asian / modern Australian fusion dishes. we went to the banquet
Fantastic meal. everything very delicious and perfectly cooked with great taste. very friendly service. only the problem was that there was too much food with the revealing that does not have a room for dessert (although they kindly let us change from 3 curses to 2) and very loud.
Elegantly appointed, with a charisma of white lacquered brush fenced walls, which is my first impression of rookie eatery while entering through its front door. I felt like coming to a kumpel home after I climbed a small wooden staircase as in a queenslander and yet the inner reminds me of being back in New Zealand, the cold weather sans, but with the south coast nsw warm. every edible has matching white cloths about it. the area is to be seen separately in two sections, with the kitchen advantage transparent and the windows retro and above all good feeling. the menu changes in the past year and the place was dizzy with dunes also on a week night....read more
Excellent service, solid wine list (with some excellent but good value options) and delicious food. particularly impressive are entrées. will definitely be back.
Lunch there today .. We chose the feed me 2 course option then added a dessert and an afogatto... Entrees ... Light Asian style interesting and exciting .. Loved the sashimi style entree with miso cream and the dessert to die for .. Mandarin deconstruction ..Mains were somewhat boring and did not live up to the expectations delivered by the entrees...Waygu with seared cabbage and a strange pink mustard cream and fish with not much else on the plate..Wine list was small but strong and well priced .. The decor is light white and understated which I enjoyed... The service was excellent ...At $182 for 2 including a 10% tip it's an expensive lunch in Wollongong with some bright notes....
