Arrived soon after opening and were the only customers. Lovely old, low beamed pub serving a variety of ales, including some local brews ie Elusive and Siren. Si, our now favourite barman, drew a freshly tapped Elusive Pin-ball Mild. Great. View all feedback.
What djk212 doesn't like about The Hope And Anchor:
Live bands have been playing in here but ive not seen them. A nice pub but on the occasions I have been in here there have not been many people so if you want a quiet moment I guess its ideal View all feedback.
Came hear with friends as had heard that the food was amazing, when we got there we were told we were ok to order only for a few minutes later to be told the chef had gone home, this was still quite a while before their advertised time at which they stop serving food, in addition their pints are more expensive than central London unfortunately this once great pub has now become one to avoid
The pub is nice enough with a fantastic garden that is perfect for soaking up the sun. However, at £5.90 for a 4.5% Wychwood ale, it's pricey even by Wokingham standards.
The pub is truly wonderful. The staff are incredibly helpful and friendly, and they offer a wide variety of beers. The interior of the pub is charming, with exposed beams adding to the ambiance. There is a cozy area with armchairs and board games, creating a comfortable and inviting atmosphere.
A warm welcome, precautions in place and the place is looking fresher after lockdown. Sun trap garden still one of the best in town. Private room available for up to 12 people at very reasonable rates ..
We live in Bracknell which suffers from a severe shortage of decent Pubs. The Hope and Anchor is a great little gem and the quiz night is awesome. Will be looking forward to our next visit.
