Still a good place to go for sushi, although their prices are quite high. They've reduced their menu compared to prior years so I wasn't as impressed on this last visit. Spicy Mango Prawns is still one of my fave dishes.Vegetarian options: Some veggie friendly optionsKid-friendliness: Not very kid friendly View all feedback.
What Donovan Bisharat doesn't like about Wasabi Sabi:
I went here expecting big things because of how pricey it was but was ultimately let down. The food, while presented beautifully, was reasonably bland outside of the salmon carpaccio. We ordered the lobster and foie gras rolls along with a few others and none of them seemed to stand out. For the price I paid, I was expecting greatness. Excellent sushi and non sushi items alike. Often times out of things like uni.Spicy mango prawns are a must. Salmon carpaccio is a crowd favorite, even for those individuals who usually shy away from sashimi. The maholo roll has a fresh feel to it from the mango and sweet minty drizzle.Ice cream and desserts are a bit generic. Would recommend dessert elsewhere.

We ordered the lobster and foie gras rolls along with a few others and none of them seemed to stand out. For the price I paid, I was expecting greatness. What I got could have been bested by 3 other Japanese restaurants I can think of off the top of my head for less than half of what we paid here. I will likely not come back nor would I recommend this place to anyone. That being said, the service was quite good.
Nice atmosphere with so-so service. Do not go here expecting to be full unless you're willing to go all out. The portion of food does not reflect the price and the menu is very limited despite the quality of food.
One of my favourite restaurants in Winnipeg. My partner and I celebrated our one year wedding anniversary over the weekend at wasabi. We had a reservation and we were seated fairly quickly. The dining room and lounge have a very comforting modern feel. You can even sit at the sushi bar and watch the chefs do their magic!Once we arrived to our table, we went over the menu and ordered some of our favourites as well as some of the servers recommendations. We ordered the honey plum tuna, salmon carpaccio, truffle broccoli, mango prawns, as well as a couple sushi rolls. The plates are smaller portions. “Tapas like”Our plates arrived one after another. From the presentation to the flavours of each plate. Everything was superb. The honey plum tuna was the star for me. The tuna melted in your mouth and the sauce underneath accompanied the tuna perfectly. The two sushi rolls we ordered (crazy 88 and dynamite) were very fresh and tasty.Overall, the experience was great. The food is on the pricer side, but the quality, service and ambiance is worth it!We look forward to coming back soon!
