What Zachary Hottel doesn't like about 50/50 Taphouse:
I used to really enjoy this restaurant and previously rated it four out of five stars. However, on my recent visit, I had to downgrade my rating to three out of five. The wait time was long and the service staff were unfriendly, making me feel unwelcome. On the plus side, the beer selection was excellent. Although I didn't eat, my companions in the group seemed to enjoy their meals. View all feedback.
Absolutely amazing! Burgers were amazing, brews were excellent and lots of choices, and fries tasted super fresh. Our waitress was super friendly and had was very knowledgeable about the menu. I told her what I liked and she suggested two burgers to make it easy to pick. Wish we lived closer bc we would be here all the time.
The go-to spot to eat/drink in Winchester. Came in from out of town for a wedding, and so glad we were able to stumble upon it and stop in for some amazing beers and great food. Didn't see a tap list like theirs anywhere else, and the beer was better than the local breweries were featuring. Staff was super nice and knowledgable as well, with pool tables, plenty of indoor and outdoor seating and on-brand music. Just a great experience, and if I'm in the area, I'll def be back!
I've gone here on multiple occasions with my girlfriend. Every time we've sat outside so I can't comment too much on the inside, but so far everything we've order was amazing. My favorite Item on their menu was easily the Burger with three patties, three layers of bacon, and three layers of cheese. It honestly slaps. The pulled pork burger is very good as well, but honestly the fries are what make it for me. Definitely my favorite place to take my girl to eat in old town so far. Sadly, as of posting this it appears she is leaving me, but I think I'll be bringing my boys here soon for beer and pool. Docking one star since again, I haven't experienced in inside experience fully yet, and I haven't tried everything on the menu. However what I have experienced was all extremely pleasant! Highly recommended!
So this establishment in my mind is first a tap house and second a restaurant. With that in mind they have a wide selection of craft brews on tap and also offer flights to try different selections. They have many different flavors to satisfy a variety of tastes and they have a solid reputation for providing quality beer. Now for the food, I have had several different burgers here but have yet to find a favorite. The actual burger is a good size patty made with quality meat and cooked to order, one would likely be very satisfied with the basic burger arrangement. As far as the special named burgers something has just been slightly off. For example the southern burger has pimento cheese and onions but the onions are unevenly cut and cooked which means some are mushy and some crunchy and the pimento cheese was ok but not thick and creamy as it should be. Don't get me wrong the burger is still good it just could be better.
