So today I decided to try something else. Not too different from what I am used to, but a new place that I have saved on my wish list of places to visit and check. Today this day was to cross this place and to the contents of my heart it was great. Hungry Sparrow is a rustic Latino restaurant with tasteful dishes. When I visited, I had the Cuban sandwich and some tostones. The portion size of the sand, which was huge and the stones was only a side part of five. The Tostones were slightly salted and I ate them with a garlic, olive oil Cilantro Dip called Chimi churri. The sandwich itself had slices of ham, pork, mustard, pickles the bread was perfect for this crispy bite and delicious flavors only dancing in your mouth. Next time I have to eat the steak sandwich. You have to try.
Delicious authentic Latin American food. Various countries and torches can be enjoyed from Cuban to Peurto Rican. Encourages to explore the entire menu and take advantage of the delivery.
With a group of 8 for lunch today to The Hungry Sparrow. Both the food and the atmosphere were fantastic! Eating in this restaurant feels like sitting in a family kitchen and your grandmother feed you unpredictable and comfortable. The food was delicious and well seasoned, and the staff was so attentive and friendly. The shares were also very generous for the price (and quality). (The restaurant was also very accommodating for vegan/vegetarian food restrictions)
First time at The Hungry Sparrow but won't be the last. Went right before 7 on a Friday, but not another soul in there. First impression....the place is immaculately clean. Service was polite and friendly. The Cuban sandwich was recommended, so that's what I got. Bread was pressed and toasted and the pork was rich and flavorful. Would def get it again. I always have to get tostones when on the menu and these were served so hot and came with a tangy garlic mayo-Good enough that we ordered a 2nd order of tostones! The owner/chef came out to check on us as well. Can't wait to come back and hope this place sticks around.
This place was sooo good. It is very clean and well lit. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. Our group tried many different dishes, and we all agreed they were all great. The portions were plenty big. Having spent 3 weeks in Puerto Rico a year ago, it brought back great memories of the food and people.
