A very annoyed waiter sacrifices his time to serve 4 glasses of different kinds of wine and he states which kind of wine it is, then the charcuterie tray which seems to be left over from breakfast comes with some slices of cheese, some slices of air-dried ham and some slices of salami as well 2 egg halves where the yolks have started to blacken, to this they have added pickles and pepperoni. When we ask the waiter to tell us about the wine and which charcuterie goes best with which wine, he looks at us questioningly and says that he has already told us what kind of wine we got. Didn 't know I would use Google or Siri to get info. So don 't make your worst mistake on this tourist trap, spend your money on something else. This place wouldn 't even have the right to offer wine tasting and Get Your Guide would be ashamed to sell this to them!
This is an incredible place, centuries old, with a very special atmosphere. The food was good, but the violinist and accordion player made our day.
Very Bad experience! We were asked to take a seat downstairs, a waiter then gave use a menu never to come back again. We waited over 30mins and hadn’t even had our drinks order taken or had any kind of acknowledgment from staff! Tables that came in after us seemed to get service it appeared the staff just served those they wanted to! Would not recommend this place at all!!
Zwolf Apostelkeller is a charming spot right in the middle of Vienna! We had an excellent meal here (pork schnitzel with potatoes, some schnapps to sip, too! and would certainly go back. The portions were generous and the prices not high considering we were in the city centre. The food was wholesome and delicious. There were two musicians playing, which was lovely to hear and really gave a great atmosphere. The only worry was that they were going from table to table asking where people were from and playing something based upon that really lovely, but I got the impression that some guests felt they had to tip them as a result… Our server Ciro was cheery and friendly, although very very busy and this, to no fault of his own, did mean that we saw some people waiting quite some time to be seated. Best to book, if you can! Overall I would highly recommend Zwolf Apostelkeller for delicious food and a great atmosphere! You could stay all night very happily!
Below average food and rushed service. Expensive unpleasant experience Would not recommend. Much nicer places close by.
