This place was great back in the day inside the North Market downtown. Over the years it’s gone downhill but in the recent weeks, something has changed and their chicken is great again, made to order, crispy and tender inside. You can also get free extra bread, pickles and sauce if desired. View all feedback.
What Luke Keeling doesn't like about Hot Chicken Takeover:
Presentation was lacking and food was mediocre. Friends had hyped the place up for me and I was excited to visit and have chicken and waffles. The waffles are dissatisfying and the syrup tastes like watered down diet syrup with no buttery flavor. The chicken was tasty but more heat could have been cooked into it or maybe if it was wetter. $54 dollars for chicken fingers for four people is a lot, but it is pretty good. Got takeout and was disappointed to find they didn't put in the side of slaw I paid for. The Mac n cheese is a pale shadow of the quality it used to be. Service: Take out Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $10–20 Food: 3 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3 Recommended dishes: Tenders
Honestly, this is good chicken. Tenders are good, the sauce is on point. The waffle fries are legitimately some of the better ones I 've had. Good service, nice people, good, chill atmosphere, at least at lunch time. Restaurant was clean too. Food is a bit expensive, but that 's fairly typical for these step above fast food places. Honestly, I 'm gonna come back again. No reason not to. The food and people here are good. No complaints. Food: 5

If there was one thing I could change about this particular store, it would be closer to where I Live! That's it, period, end of story! The food, people, and atmosphere are perfect. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $10–20
Loved the mild chicken. It did have a nice kick to it. No sauce, it was a dry rub, but chicken was juicy. Mac was good, and I love a good banana cream pudding.
