We went for brunch. Small but good selection of breakfast menu items, slightly expensive. Omelette was just a tad skimpy. Bagel texture was more like bread—not chewy. Salmon was fresh. Mushrooms on toast very delicious. Service attentive. Once food was served, the flies were a problem, though. View all feedback.
What Neil B doesn't like about Lust Bistro Bakery:
Beautiful setting and friendly staff, but the meal was disappointing. The pork pie had a stodgy crust and the meat was not tasty. The hake was good, but the sauce like thin and tasteless soup. The pork tongue was good, but had only a teaspoon of mustardy sauce. The chips were overfried and cold. One order was completely wrong and the other incomplete. A disappointment for R640 spent. Sampled a few of their dishes and would definitely recommend.
The food and service were phenomenal… The scenery was amazing. I would definitely go back there again.
Although the restaurant appeared empty, all of the tables were reserved but the waitress did manage to fit us in by. The iced coffee was especially delicious with the barista striking the perfect balance with the sweet from the honey and retaining the flavour of the espresso. The roast beef bagel was also delicious although I did find the bagel to be on the dry side. May have been perfect if it was toasted instead. Rounded off with a refreshing green salad.
