We enjoyed our time at the leagues club. The club is spacious, has good atmosphere and a good size outdoor modern beer garden. The prices of food and drinks are reasonable, especially for $7 annual membership. The staff were also friendly View all feedback.
What Kiandra Hardiansyah doesn't like about Banjos:
We ate here as we popped in and felt like a bite to eat for lunch. We just had a toastie and chips and gravy and they were perfectly adequate. Service was good, drinks were reasonably priced and plenty of choice. View all feedback.
I went there with some friends, was terribleI ordered the "rib eye steak" with veg and like a surf and turf.
Experience very average. Staff were friendly, however, we felt that the meals were not good value. for a burger and chips, it was okay but probably not worth that. The pickles were also missing off the burger (not a big deal, and probably sounds...a bit like “whinging” but it’s always disappointing to be missing parts of your order) I was going to get a steak, but interestingly enough Mashed potato is not available as a side? Again, easy enough just to pick another side but I like my mashed potato and I found it very strange not to have it on a club menu. Wedges, chips and baked potatoes are available though. If you’re a mashed potato lover like me, prepare to be heart broken! The meals were presented well though and came quickly. The club was also very clean, including the facilities with plenty of hand sanitiser and cold beer! So not all was lost. It was also nice and quiet. Would I dine there again? Yes. It wasn’t enough to deter me, some aspects were disappointing but it is definitely worth a try. Hope it will be better next time
We visit Tamworth every year as we travel from WA and have always found this club's facilities and the menu to be very good with great variety of dishes and fair prices. However, since our last visit in (we weren't able to travel last...year because of Covid panic of course) it seems things have changed. Last night, we visited for a meal and found the menu not as varied, the prices much higher and the standard of our meals far below what we have enjoyed previously. My wife had the crumbed lamb cutlets, at near which were tough and very fatty and she was unable to finish them and for that price you only get to choose vegetables, including chips which were under the meat! I have previously found the home made beef and kidney pies excellent and was going to have one again but they are no longer available so my choice was the Chicken Parmi which turned out to be a mistake too. The parmi was very average, but the big issue with both meals was that they just plonk the meat straight onto the chips which of course just end up a steamed mess and at around was not good value, especially as it to was also limited to just x vegies. One of our other partners had the Scnitzel which was tough and also sat on top of the chips and her husband had fish, which turned up with no chips, just boiled carrots and beans! Also, if you want salt or paper, you have to ask for it as you do if you want any other condiments. If this is the result of new kitchen staff, then I think they have made a mistake and if it's a cost saving measure, they will lose customers, as they have with us as there are many other venues around Tamworth with far better quality and value meals. Lastly, almost every businness we have visited in each state since we left WA has asked everyone to sign in which is fine but no one anywhere has demanded that we sign out before we could leave! Another example of people all doing their own thing and making it up as they go
Thought we’d order light and staying at Mercure, it was convenient for us to visit the club next door. I ordered the dumplings that were advertised as the special. They were raw; pink meat uncooked very average. I returned them to ask if they...could be recooked and the lady said they would provide new meal; wasn’t to be as the second serving came out (was the same serving) and still not cooked very average and disappointing. Skip the specials maybe just stick to what they know best
Great place friendly staff. We had some drinks and a meal here and during this even won a meat raffle. Great friendly staff a must visit place in Tamworth
