*update: third visit and the food continues to be great! This time we waited about 15 minutes to be seated but well worth the wait. Mofongo de malanga- perfection. Mofongo de bata- delicious and 5 golpes pure de yuca- took creamy to a whole new level! *As a food snob, I can tell you the food here is amazing! Fresh, flavorful, and very authentic. Crab empanada was...amazing! The location is a bit tight but that could have been the Sunday rush! The decorations are authentic and really took us back to our QuisqueyaNoteworthy details: Decorations are very authentic and nostalgic.
What Sri Lanka R doesn't like about La Casa Del Mofongo:
Stop! Don’t order! I had the Mofongo con Pechuga de Pollo a la Milanesa, and it was absolutely terrible. All I got was fried chicken topped with cheese and ham, with more cheese on the bottom. Where’s the mofongo? Mofongo is supposed to be mashed plantains, so why wasn’t it included? It looked nothing like the picture they used or the images online. View all feedback.
The mofongo relleno de Pechuga al Ajillo was so amazing!!!! We live two hours sways and will def make the drive just to go back to eat.
The hype is real. The mofongo is moist and flavorful. The crab empanada is gourmet. The steak was juicy and marinated just right. The shrimp sauce was creamy and delicious. The hot sauce was the perfect kick. This place might have the best mofongo i have ever tasted in 3 separate countries.
It's a very welcoming place with reasonable prices. The food is prepared fresh as soon as you order, and the service is quite good.
I had the pleasure of trying the Mofongo con Churrasco, and it was absolutely delicious! The churrasco was cooked to perfection—not tough at all—and was seasoned just right. The mofongo was equally delightful. The red meat empanada was moist on the inside and crispy on the outside. I usually don't write reviews, but it was so good that I just had to share! <3
