We watched the Liverpool vs Real Madrid game at this restaurant, but unfortunately did not dine there as we had already eaten at the nearby hotel. However, we received a warm welcome from the locals! A young lady from the staff guided us to the entrance of the pub, which was located in a shopping area. A gentleman named Jim found us seats and another staff member greeted us warmly. What SaraLovesTravel doesn't like about Parrafin Lamp:
I went to this pub for a drink and found their prices to be reasonable. I felt like I was attracting a lot of attention when I entered, so it seems like a spot frequented by regulars. The toilets and the overall cleanliness of the place were satisfactory. I probably won't return, but it's not because of any issues with the establishment - I simply prefer other bars in the area. Can’t speak to the food… but ended up at this place late at night, the place was full of drunks and the bouncer was useless. Stayed because it was hilarious :
I found myself in "the parrafin lamp" tonight and parked in a night. went on looking for food originally, unfortunately they had stopped serving when I arrived. this must be one of the most friendly places I was at! the staff was fantastic and nothing was too much annoyed for them, had also a good laugh with some of the masters. will definitely come for a weekend and make a real night out
Staff aren't just attentive the 2 ladies who were working while I was in are beautiful and very polite 5
It was really cool. Awesome crowd, awesome staff and an awesome atmosphere, for all I can remember from that night :
Food was so good! Was here with my bestie for my birthday dinner and the food was absolutely delicious. Bestie had a cheeseburger with chips and she really enjoyed her meal. I had sausage, mash and gravy which I thoroughly enjoyed too. We both had sticky toffee pudding with custard and we'd both go back just for that! Service was slightly slower than expected but it was busy and I'm assuming food is cooked fresh to order. Football was playing on the TV's which made the place very loud and conversation a little difficult. But as I think it's more of a social pub than a restaurant, noise should be expected when football is on. We ordered a Jamaican Sunrise cocktail each, as we've have them before and they are really nice. But it was served in a pint glass and the alcohol was over diluted with fresh orange juice. Overall, I do enjoy the Parry Lamp, as it's known locally, and will most definitely be back and I do recommend it.
