What Käthe Glaser doesn't like about Avert Brasserie:
everyone at the table ordered the beef short rib entree for dinner but sadly none of us were impressed with the plating. in the past, it was served on a dinner plate. this time it was served in a bowl much to our surprise which diluted the appeal of the meal. we felt as if we were in a cafeteria or a noodle bar with a big bowl of soup. I would recommend using dinner plates again. thank you View all feedback.
It could not have been nicer!! Nice menu, great food and the service was terrific.
Last night was my second time eating at Avert and it was SO good I had to share! The first visit we sat in the dining room and it was nice and cozy, our waitress was friendly and attentive. Cocktails were delicious and we ordered the salmon dip, OMG... the beef bourguignon and duck that came with couscous. The beef bourguignon was amazingly tender and just perfectly cooked and was probably the dish that made us decide to come back again last night. Isla was our server, super bubbly and friendly and attentive. We tried different cocktails this time, and the beef tartar. I know beef tartar isn't for everyone, but I happen to love it and try it everywhere I go.. that being said this one was one of the best I've had. We ordered the schnitzel and I got the duck again, this time served with a butternut squash puree. AMAZING. Easily the best duck dish I've ever had. I literally could go back every week and eat that dish again it was that good. I only discovered this restaurant several months ago but it has easily become one of my favorites and I look forward to coming back and trying everything else on the menu!
I had the best lunch at my own little bistro table outside on a beautiful warm autumn day.
This charming place had top flight food worthy of my dining experiences in New York and Paris. Duck, seafood, beef, it didn't matter what we ordered. The meals were played beautifully and the food was delicious! The service was excellent! Our server, Cindy, was personable, polite, engaging but non-intrusive. A delicate balance to maintain. Thank you Avert.... we'll be back!
Service is always nice ! Food is tasty , even though it is a little expensive for what it is... Foie gras was very disappointing. Steak tartare was good , but lacks flavor. Crème brûlée was very good ! Je reviendrai !
