What User doesn't like about The Wyborn:
The service at this restaurant was terrible, the food was bad, and the bedrooms were small and uncomfortable. I regret ever stepping foot inside. I have left a detailed review, but the hotel has not responded, making it a waste of time. View all feedback.

We ordered appetizers and 15 minutes later were informed that they were out of stock, so we had to reorder. We then went to the carvery and waited in line for 15 minutes while they restocked. Unfortunately, they had run out of some items, leaving only one option. The cook carved the meat and served it with gloves on a dish. The service was slow and we had to wait 30 minutes for the dessert menu before finally having to ask for our order. The restaurant seemed understaffed with only 2 waitresses, a manager, and one cook, despite knowing the expected number of customers in advance. It is advisable to book a table early to ensure a full selection of dishes.
The food was hot and the taste was nice x they even put our table to the breakfast morning of our high time so we could all have breakfast together. 5*
Unfortunately time hasn't been kind here. It felt like a trip back to the nineties. Im amazed they still think they can charge a premium for something that Toby carvery can do better at less than half the price. The menu for during the week...looked expensive for what was offered and judging by the carvery standard there is very little chance I'd consider going back to try it at those prices. Reading has lots of nice restaurants and gastropubs so it just isn't up to par. A real shame the staff seem disinterested to. It wasn't busy so there was little atmosphere, maybe a reason for the prices to cover the costs but really it has had its day.
