On the way to south to lunch. very friendly staff. perfect location and beautiful outside surface. the plower and caesar chicken salad, which lasted almost 40 minutes to arrive. no apologies or explanation. great shame as eating was in order (except I think they could do a...small better on the brotfront with the pflüger i piece white toast is not what I expected). if you read this, please tell your personal to provide a statement/apology. we understand sometimes dinge go wrong, but they need to communicate!

Despite its picturesque rural location, my visit to this rustic country pub left much to be desired. I was rudely pushed aside upon entering the restaurant and had to wait 45 minutes before someone finally took my order. When my food eventually arrived, it was overcooked and inedible, leading me to cancel my order altogether. Regrettably, the management seemed ill-equipped to handle the situation and only sent employees to attempt to rectify the issue. With no other dining options available in the village, I ended up going to bed hungry. To top it off, I learned too late that they do not make early reservations.
We have visited the pub many times over the years, but the meal we had this week was the best yet. The steaks were perfectly cooked and a bit pricey. The lamb dishes were delicious and the burger was also very tasty. Despite not typically being a fan of desserts, the biscoff cheesecake was absolutely amazing! It was really delicious. The staff ensured a warm welcome and the atmosphere at this charming country pub was great.
We were staying at my sister's place decided to go to the pub for dinner, curry night was mentioned and to be honest I was dreading the usual dreadful standard pub curry, however..................It was absolutely wonderful! I was drinking Timothy Taylor's Landlord (never had...a bad pint of that) and had the taste for it so a curry was a good call. The poppadoms came first and they were the best I've ever tasted honestly, better than all the Indian restaurants I've ever been to I've visited a few! Then came the starters a mixture of chicken pakora, onion bhaji Bombay potato, all fabulous, intact the onion bhajis which I would never usually order (had a bad experience once with one) were beautiful, light perfectly seasoned. On to main course, I had butter chicken (but could have had prawn/veggy instead of chicken) which was as good as it gets on my list of best curries I've had the pleasure of eating. All in all a top night apart from I wasn't allowed the usual dozen flaming Sambucas as would normally accompany such a feast! Only one minor point was the pub was a little chilly in the room we sat in, but I suppose it is January and it was freezing outside.
