I had a fantastic experience at this cozy little restaurant in the small town of Pepin, Wisconsin. We arrived late on a Sunday night after a big event with around 30 guests, and the owner was the only one working. Despite the late hour, he was incredibly welcoming and accommodating, even though I'm sure he was eager to close up for the night. I was impressed by the hospitality, as well as the $4 Tanqueray and tonics... View all feedback.
What Gerhard Hoeger doesn't like about Bear's Den:
It's a standard small town bar. Cheap beer. Friendly staff. I wish there was something on the menu that wasn't fried, but the only thing I could find was a small tub of potato salad to go with my chicken fingers. There is one pool table, 75¢ a game—not bad! Not much room around the table though, so you're constantly running into someone. View all feedback.
Great little local place to get a burger and a beer. It's usually just one employee behind the bar, so you may wait a few minutes before they get out to take your order, but the service is just fine. The kitchen is quick, and the food is good. If they had Summit on tap, I'd give them five stars. I believe they are cash only, which is completely acceptable for a small town bar.
Good bar food. Off the river, so not quite as busy. Fun experience today as the cook was short staffed, but a couple local younger adults stepped up to help take orders. Nice job people.

Try the cheese curds! very nice small city bar with friendly staff. the hamburger was delicious! the beer was cold! my wife and I like the atmosphere at this place. We look forward to the next time we are in town.
Food was good, nearly very good. We ordered a loaded chicken burger sandwich, which is grilled and topped with bacon and cheese; a bacon cheeseburger, onion rings and a side of cheese curds. The cheese curds beat my expectations. These were squeaky like fresh curds should be, and the batter was light and not greasy. The onion rings were good too. We'll go back when in the mood for a simple meal in a bar setting.
