an old favorite and eats here since the 1980s. the lido is probably one of the first real caffes with more than fried eggs on toast and instant coffee in the eighties. the brunettes are always sorted and coffee excellent. not sure how many owners it went through, but I had no bad meal here in 23 plus years that is amazing. today 's latte and eier benedict is no different. What User doesn't like about The Lido:
A nice busy place in the morning. Coffee was quite good, however my mushroom toast looks really fancy but tasted abit underwhelming. The taste was just not there yet resulting in a slightly bland mushroom toast. A bit of caramelised onions would probably have fixed that with slightly more creamy gravy (was almost dry with the exception of some oil). Maybe it's just a different style but I did not enjoy the taste as m... View all feedback.

Wow! beautiful meal here tonight. we've been coming here for years. it's better and better. we love the tapas menu. it is the new way to eat everything. tonight we tried for the first time cocktails and they were made perfect, sweet but not sick... alcoholic, but not bitter and drunk. it's dark and intimate. dark, slimming. after 20 years, the lido is still my favorite Wellington restaurant.... actually aotearoa and that says something. Come here and leave your ego and your dresses on the door. It's just a cool place for very cold people.
Fantastic new boat for a stodgie and unwilling “institutional”. Thank you for all the light that is now immersed by the excellent location of caffe, and a change of mood from the hostile dive into the warm and welcoming restaurant. the updated menu is excellent, with a wide range of taste and taste, the kiwi kitchen better than the rest of the world to encapsulate in its own decor. excellent labneh and dukkah easy to knock out middle eastern originals, pumpkin and cashew frit bring comfort eating on the table over Malaysia aromen. the drink list is also impressive with sugar-free fizzies, a welcoming series of sakes and even bru kvas for the pleasure and intrepid. the bierlist offers among other things the best craft beer from garage project, tuatara and kereru and the weinliste portends to the real love of sommeliers for the creation of the list. he made true when talking to the friendly staff and drinking. go to lunch and stay on dinner, the offers are worth eating quality to good trips. and enjoy an aperol splash while watching the new clientele, an excellent departure from the grim, fat people complaining about small portions of chips and busy employees.
Nice little cafe restaurant. Has a good location and really friendly staff. They do combination of German french cuisine. Plates are a fairly good size despite the advice fr the waiter (we wished we ordered less) The only downside is the space. It can get bit too crowded and cozy. Prices are ok-ish for what it is
The Lido for brunch came highly recommended and while the food (Avocado on toast with haloumi) was OK, it was the service I enjoyed the most. Very friendly and welcoming staff who were attentive and conversational which I really appreciate.
