I myself and 7 friends came on Wednesday, 27 april in the bengal lounge to the birthday meal. the staff was very friendly and attentive! the food was delicious, there was no waiting time to order more drinks. they came around, and made a joke and had a laugh and sweat with us. the bar staff made me a delicious drink to my birthday, I can't tell them what it was when he didn't want us to have a secret... I used this place in the last 10 years. it was my way to take friends or family for a really good meal with excellent service. in the last 5 years it has declined in both areas. my sister came to stay, and we decided after the cinema. the naanbrot was cold and had no garlic at all. the woofbhaji was cold, greasy and pretty grim. most foods had to be heated in the microwave before it could be eaten and the quality cam... On recommendation of a brummy, now softie southerner acquainted with a good curry that eating is a wonder of the world. so many aromen in every mouth. it is a pleasure for the palette. just divine. would like to be taught their recipes....A cooking school by bengal. I'd sign up in a flash.

Our first visit and great food and atmosphere. Unfortunately one staff member, maybe the boss( was rude and his customer service leads a lot to be desired! No dialogue, no please and thank yous even when paying and leaving a tip. This let the place...down in my opinion.
Having heard reviews on this restaurant we decided to give it a try ourselves, food was lovely and couldn't fault it, just a shame we couldn't say the same about the service. The waiter literally stood at the end of our table and watched us...eat making my daughter very uncomfortable and as soon as our cutlery hit our plates they were taken away even though my partner still had food on his plate and haven't finished eating. When it was time to pay the bill my partner laid £10 on the table as we were discussing how much tip we should leave, the waiter came and took it without a word not even knowing whether if it was for him! Found him to be very rude. Even though the food was lovely it isn't worth returning for the uncomfortable atmosphere and did ruin the night alittle.
