I went here yesterday with my wife and small son. The food was pretty good, it 's definitely fast food hibachi, but it was really good. The two sauces they offer here are pretty good. Portion size is good for the price. The biggest thing, is thesheer customer support here. The staff was super friendly, my son had dropped our cup, and the woman working the registersomehow saw it, and came and swapped out a cup. I wish... View all feedback.
What Chad LeClaire doesn't like about Hashi Japanese Kitchen Watauga:
Order at the counter kind of place. Limited menu, but the sushi was better than expected. Ordered rainbow roll and Hashi roll. Both were good and fresh. Edamame was way too salty and the miso soup is a hard pass. Place is quiet and clean. A stepabove grocery store sushi but not quite what you might want if you’re thinking sushi restaurant or hibachi. This place is pretty good. We had the teriyaki chicken, lobster teriyaki and a steak, shrimp and chicken teriyaki mix and all were delightful. I forgot to take pics of the teriyaki but did of the sushi. The sushi was the best thing for sure. We willdefinitely be back.
Food wasn’t that good salad didn’t even get touched, and the rest was substandard. Lettuce was brown and tomatoes wilted. When I pay for a meal it need to be fresh. Nothing less. It was the cheaper place near me and I thought we would give it a try.Right at $70 for 3ppl but I wish I had spent $100 somewhere else. Sorry for the bad review but fix it for the next people orclose.
I really wanted to like this restaurant, but I will definitely be skipping it in the future. I ordered four sushi rolls, miso soup, gyoza, and a tempura appetizer. Unfortunately, the tempura was hard and overcooked, and they didn’t provide any dipping sauce. The shrimp smelled off, and the sushi was stale, with the tuna tasting particularly fishy; I couldn't finish the first piece and ended up tossing it out for fear of getting sick. I also tried the employee-recommended specialty roll, and it was equally disappointing. The miso soup was thin and watered down, as if someone had diluted it with a cup of water. Overall, there was a serious lack of seasoning, and both the fish and shrimp did not taste fresh at all. It felt like they were either storing the seafood at room temperature all day or using ingredients that were a day old. It’s really disappointing for a sushi place. I genuinely wanted to enjoy my meal, but it seems this isn’t the best spot for dinner, especially near closing time on a Saturday night. To make matters worse, both my husband and I ended up with terrible stomach aches last night, and this morning has not been pleasant. I would recommend avoiding this restaurant at all costs!
I visited this restaurant yesterday with my wife and young son. The food was quite enjoyable; while it's definitely fast food hibachi, it was really tasty. They offer two sauces that are both great, and the portion sizes are generous for the price. The standout aspect of our experience was the exceptional customer service. The staff were incredibly friendly. When my son accidentally dropped our cup, a woman at the register noticed and came over to replace it without us even asking. I only wish I lived closer, but I will definitely be back for another visit!
This is a counter-service restaurant with a somewhat limited menu, but the sushi surprised me with its quality. I tried the rainbow roll and the Hashi roll, both of which were fresh and enjoyable. However, the edamame was excessively salty, and I wouldn't recommend the miso soup at all. The atmosphere is quiet and clean, making it a nice spot for a casual meal. It's definitely an upgrade from grocery store sushi, but it might not meet your expectations if you're looking for a traditional sushi restaurant or hibachi experience.
