Excellent customer service. Emily always goes above and beyond for her customers. She has my drink ready before I even get to the window, and always greets me with a smile. You can tell she cares a lot about all of her customers. I truly believe she provides best customer service in the valley. I go out of my way on my morning commute to get coffee here now. What Branden Navarro doesn't like about Perkup Espresso:
My wife and I have been. Loyal perkup customers since we moved here 3 years ago. We only ever buy the lotus with no ice. This week perkup has lowered their standard. We order a lotus with no ice 24oz they filled it to 20 oz and said they can't fill it more because there is no ice and they don't want to open another can. We love perkup but this is ridiculous. 24 oz is 24 oz regardless of ice. I didn't pay for ice I pay... View all feedback.
Great coffee, fast service. Clean and tasty fresh coffee. The ice vanilla latte was tasty. I would request extra ice.
I decided to stop here for an iced coffee after training at a work field office in Mat-Su for the day. This Perkup Espresso is kind of tricky to catch as it sits below a hill on the eastbound Parks Highway on the corner of Industrial Dr. and Old Matanuska Rd. If you're going at a significant high rate of speed on the road, it may not be a good idea to come at a sudden stop to turn right especially since this stretch of the highway is already on the outskirts of town and cars tend to move faster in this area. The hill leading down to the coffee hut from the highway is fairly steep and can pose some problems for motorists in the winter especially if there is ice buildup on the incline. As I pulled up to the drive-thru window, the barista gave a friendly, but unenthusiastic greeting as she prepared to take my order. She could've been tired and stressed out from a long workday so I didn't really think much of it. I ordered a 24oz. Iced Americano with sugar-free Amaretto and heavy cream. I figured this would be an ideal drink for the long, hot commute back to Anchorage. As I drove down the highway, I took a sip and was immediately disappointed. The drink was flat and flavorless with little emphasis on the Amaretto and even the coffee itself. It tasted more like ice water with a little flavoring rather than a coffee drink. There was little point in turning around to get another drink as I reached the cutoff to the Glenn Highway heading to Anchorage. I normally don't like to leave negative reviews but after a long training day and the hot sun baking the interior of the car, I was hoping for a refreshing drink to make the ride home more enjoyable. I decided to keep this review at two stars rather than one on the presumption that it could've been an off day for them just like any other place. I'll give these guys a second chance the next time I'm in the area.
Jeez Talk about rude. I don 't get it, don 't you want tips? I 've been to this location lots of times over the years and most of the time I swear I get a very rude girl who has this expression like wtf do you want? The last time I went here, I had people with me in my car and even my passengers made comment how rude one of the girls were. It 's sad a few bad apples can ruin it for a place, but I swear I 've never had so many ugly encounters as I have here. My money will be going elsewhere. Sorry.
I won't be returning to this perkup location. Last few drink were not good. Wife complained about hers as well. One young brunette girl also reflects poorly on the company, very snooty! This last time we drove up, was the first time ever we chose not to tip and we usually leave a very generous tip.
I love the coffee and other goodies at Perk Up. I always have a great drink and the ladies are so friendly and fast.
