Was visiting Washington to see the local historical sites. Stopped in for lunch and Thursday the special of the day was chicken and dumplings. They were really tasty along with the home made yeast rolls. Service was friendly and very prompt. We did not stay for desert, but check out the options. Be sure to check the special of the day before ordering. Will go again for sure. View all feedback.
What Denise Watson doesn't like about Williams Tavern:
My daughter and I came her for a little getaway and made reservations for a dinner and show two month's in advance. First we had to wait outside for 20 minutes, at 98°, just to get in and pay. Then once we were in the door they didn't have enough room for everyone so they were sitting random people together. The open table for us was with two men we didn't even know. Some of the best food we have gotten at a restaurant anywhere in America!!! The sides spot on perfect, the chicken excellent, the ribs were good (not the best but good), the hamburger legit, and the peach cobbler was put of this world. All of it tasted like they make it in house. So worth checking out.
Stop in during the Festival and had a bite to eat. Didn't make it in time for the buffet. The hamburger were wonderful nice to know some place still use real meat. Will definitely try and come back next time we are in the area.
This is my second time visiting the Williams Tavern, this time I made sure I took a picture, since I’m visiting out of state. Variety of items, they are all fantastic. It’s been a year since the last visit so I made sure I don’t have any regrets enjoying the buffet! They also have jams and preserves for sale, I bought a cherry preserve and wish I had bought two jars!
Great place to stop by. Takes you back to the 1800s. The food was good. The service was excellent. The entire town is full of such great history. It's definitely worth a stop.
We traveled here to visit the washing state park. After eating here for lunch, we would make the drive again just for the food! It was good home cooking. I had the special pork chop sandwich and it was so good.
