After a long night, I was happy to have a good meal. When we entered the restaurant we were met by a host who sat us in an area that could accommodate our large group. The waiter was knowledgeable about the menu and offered great recommendations on the menu. Everything we had was flavorful and a good portion. I had the grilled salmon with shrimp, Mac and cheese, sweet potatoes, and mashed potatoes...AMAZING! I'd def... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about The Carolina Kitchen Grill:
Stop by Carolina Kitchen for an early dinner and the Jerk Chicken, Mac cheese, crowned greens were delish. But they had no ice, no soda. Really! The lemonade wasn't good. The soda machine looks like she didn't work at age. They run to open new restaurants, but don't worry about the existing ones. It doesn't make any sense. Better... View all feedback.

He waited 30 minutes from entering to dinner. A well drink ordered before you drink the well machine is broken and spray everywhere when you try to fill your cup. Came here because I had a voucher and the staff was confused and even the manager was initially confused that I had a voucher. In addition, the ordering system was confusing. Don't come back.
Food was legit! Place was full and went late at night when most things were sold out, but still really good.
As a person who can cook soul food very well, I am very special about walking in soul food restaurants. I'm honest, DC doesn't have many great and consistent soul food facilities where the food tastes like the grandmother cooked by someone. However, Carolina cuisine comes 95% when no longer there. Basically, it's lol. It tastes like your grandmother or aunt slave all day in the kitchen. I was in all places and the food always tastes the same. Things I highly recommend:1. Smothered chicken (superb! 2. Fried chicken3. Baked fish4. Pig chops (painted! This engraving is amazing 5. Collard greens6. Potatoes and gravy (superb! 7. Mac and cheese8. Garbage 9. Coke I give this location a 4 because first parking is not ideal. Sure there is a garage, but it is not a place where you can just grab and walk. Secondly, the service is hit or missed at the counter. I was 2 times ago and I had to ask Maisbrot to come with the meal. In one case they did not offer it, and in the other instance it was not finished and they did not even offer it until I inquired. Then I had to wait a long time. Thirdly, the front line counter feels underused and/or not well managed. The cashier is often overwhelmed to find out what the order is that keeps the line clear. Fourthly, this place is very expensive and sometimes parts are not consistent. (This is problematic for the chain. You'll probably spend at least $25 on a meal that's ridiculous. Fifthly there is no veggie plate, smh. You have to buy each page individually again expensive than hell. Nevertheless, I still give for this place and recommend it very much.
