Came here for lunch last Thursday—you can make reservations via Resy! Even with reservations, we decided to sit at the bar area—and seemed like they had a busy lunch rush that day! Food was good. I liked the “Proper Burger”—it was well seasoned, but I did add avocado $3.50), apple wood bacon $3.50) and runny egg $2.50) as extras so my burger came out a bit pricey: $24.50. Also, burger does not come with any side. I f... View all feedback.
What Tiffany Tan doesn't like about Duke's Grocery Foggy Bottom:
Mediocre food mediocre service. In general, restaurants throughout the city let tables go for unoccupied and then chose to sit all the walkins at a bar. Communicated to the host that we would be done quick, yet he still refused to sit us at a table. Not accommodating or helpful. View all feedback.

I recommend the WAGYU BEEF BURGER and the shareable size Fries as a side order. I had to ensure that I specified for the meat to be cooked well done. This location is walkable from the Metro stops. Happy Hour Monday Friday 12:00 7:00 pm. Only reason why it’s not a 5 star is because when my friend and I paid the server said they could only split in the check in half but not by item.
Ive had great experiences at Duke's before but tonight my server, Carlos, really went above and beyond to make sure I was taken care of. The food is good and reasonably priced, especially a fan of their burgers and turkey burgers, and my boyfriend likes their English breakfast during brunch.
Listen, we've been going to this Duke's location every other month or so for over two years. We used to LOVE it. The burgers were amazing, the sweet potato fries with the aioli were amazing, the crème brûlée was amazing, the elote loco was amazing. Over the past few months, every time we go back something is worse about the quality/ value.First, the crème brûlée was unavailable for weeks and when it came back it wasn't nearly as good. Then, the elote loco tasted like nothing. A couple weeks later, the proper burger wasn't cooked well as it always is, and the cheese on my friends proper burger wasn't melted at all. The last time we visited, about two weeks ago, every single one of these things happened again, with the addition that the portion of fries was a little over half of what it used to be. Mind you, fries are not included, they charge you extra. It was ridiculous. I also ordered the fish chips and it had about a handful of fries, whereas before it was a good portion (still expensive, but at least we got more). We used to love this place but who knows if we'll go back
The wagyu burger is unreal. Some will recommend Duke’s burger, while good, don’t listen to that. If you’re a burger person, stop reading this and go order the wagyu burger!
