Amazing food and service. Had meat and cheese platter, the Chiopino and the hazzlenut nut mousse for dessert. All were excellent. If you sit at the bar the bartender will let you sample wines until you find your pairing preference. You have to try this place. View all feedback.
What Thomas Baumbach doesn't like about Bibiana:
Our experience was definitely undermined by our waiter who expressed immediate disappointment when my mother-in-law asked for regular rather than sparkling water for the table. It is alright to feel it on the inside, my friend, but never ever let your patrons see it. Another unfortunate gaff occurred when the same waiter stacked two plates on top of each other in front of my brother-in-law before clearing them. Here... View all feedback.
Overall enjoyed Bibiana. The little bar was nice to wait for our guests. Bartender was very attentive and helpful without being too much. Food was excellent. Unfortunately, the waiter support has poured my bottle of foam water into all other shallow water. Our waitress quickly fixed the problem. Worse, my husband ordered Decaf coffee and was instead served caffeine. No fixation, and he couldn't sleep most of the night. 2 “small” on the table next to us fell the F bomb and more. Not to blame the restaurants, but certainly not what I want to hear while I try to relax and have a nice evening. Food was absolutely wonderful! A beautiful evening despite the glitter.
My son I ate in Bibiana during the week of the restaurant during a trip. Wonderful service, stellar meals and dessert was amazing! I wish we lived closer!
Great service and nice menu for DC Restaurant Week for our party of 4. If only two of us, I'd notice it's pretty loud.
Dinner in Bibiana was good. I wanted to love it because there are so few large Italian places in DC, but I don't. Nothing on the menu jumped out. The service was fine, the ambience was fine, but the whole culinary experience was forgotten. There are too many exciting restaurants in DC to waste my time back.
The host and our first waiter were very nice to accommodate my guests as I arrived a bit later. We were offered the menu, ordered our drinks and our server was very attentive. However once the food arrived a waitress took over and she was, well, different. I asked for some cheese for my pasta and she schooled me in front of my guests about how I did not need any cheese on my pasta, which by the way was the blandest cacio e pepe i’ve had in my life. She went on and said “I could offer you some pepper instead” and while she was cracking it on top of my pasta I was just staring and she added “please don’t stare at it, the pepper is coming even if you can’t see it”. I did not say a thing because I had no interest in ruining our night. I could tell my guests were being polite enough but they did not enjoy their food either. I am not sure if the staff just tried to impress us or what, but having just returned from Milan we thought their attitude was just cringeworthy. I don’t think I am returning to this place, it was definitely a place I’ve been wanting to visit since your instagram page shows very good food, but my actual experience said otherwise. Good luck.
