Casa Rica - Warwick

I'm not sure what happened to this restaurant, but it has become a bit of a disaster. As of May 4, 2011, it is the closest thing to authentic Mexican food on this side of London. It surpasses the phony Mexican restaurant at the top of the city.

Food is always good whenever I order from here. It’s always been delivered pretty quickly and is hot on arrival. Love the chimichangas which are flavourful and packed full of food and the refried beans!

I ordered from here on the back of the excellent reviews. I have to say I disagree with all of them. I ordered nachos and a vegetarian chimichanga. The chimichanga was just rice with some peppers and baby corn thrown in. No beans, no lettuce, no other ingredients but hot sauce. It was not very tasty and definitely not as advertised. The nachos didn’t fair much better. The guacamole was awful; a tasteless green sludge. And the salsa was like pizza sauce with some jalapeños chucked in. Not salsa like at all. Needless to say, I didn’t finish my meal and have no intention of ordering again. The portions were big for the price, but I can see why. No quality at all. The two stars is for the garlic bread which was actually quite nice and edible.

DO NOT USE THIS TAKEAWAY!!!! We placed an order on Just Eat for just over £30 to be delivered to our hotel where my son and I were staying. The food arrived on time with no issues with the driver. However, when we checked our order, we realized that one item was missing. My son called the takeaway to inquire about the missing item. The person who answered the call proceeded to hurl insults at my son, calling him names and accusing him of lying. I took the phone from my son and informed them that I would report the incident to Just Eat and the police. In response, they threatened to come to our hotel and harm us. All of this over a missing £9 burrito. Stay away from this place at all costs.
