During our own island tour, we came across this restaurant and decided to make a U-turn to check it out — and it was the best decision we made! I ordered the authentic Hawaiian BBQ meal, and it was absolutely delicious. We were quite hungry, and this place definitely satisfied our cravings. I highly recommend stopping here for a bite before continuing your island tour! View all feedback.
What Michele Kava doesn't like about L L Drive-inn:
I placed a lunch order over the phone that came to about $35. When I arrived to pick it up, I was informed that they couldn’t accept cash because they didn’t have change for a $100 bill. Seriously? It was almost 2:00 PM, well after the lunch rush, and they couldn't manage to find $65 in change? That’s frustrating! To make matters worse, the staff member was incredibly rude and unapologetic. This location was soooo good! The garlic chicken was the best! I ordered the small size and it was so much food! I tried the Ala Moana location and it was gross- Plus they didn’t have garlic chicken and was overran with homeless people and birds.
The most important thing is the food, which was delicious and served hot! The indoor seating is limited, but there is a covered outdoor area with plenty of space. I ordered the chicken katsu with macaroni salad and a scoop of rice. The mini portion was more than enough for one to one and a half people. The sauce that comes with the katsu has a wonderful flavor, reminiscent of honey with just a hint of spice. I also tried the mini fried shrimp, which included four shrimp, a scoop of rice, macaroni salad, and a small serving of chopped raw cabbage. Overall, I really enjoyed my meal!
