I can see why this restaurant has two Michelin stars. The concept is fascinating and they do things with their food which are incredibly creative, presenting it beautifully. Each dish is brought out like a performance. This was great for about minutes but at...the end of three hours we were bored and losing the will to live, particularly as we could not understand what the waitress was saying. At one point she brough... View all feedback.
What Katrin Niederberger doesn't like about Hotel Vitznauerhof:

We had dinner when the restaurant had only Michelin star and now it was time to appreciate its second star. It was amazing. We often dine in Michelin star restaurants but this one is very special and incomparable. We order a course menu,...and each course was amazing. The combinations of ingredients were unbelievable. The service was great, the staff was very friendly and they are mostly Dutch.

Texture and actual craft was great, but the underlying dishes and flavors need work. Servers nice but impossibly dreadfully slow service, almost a hour meal. And the food was not worth hours... Incredible lake view was the best part.
We ate here again for the time in Spring and just like before we were thoroughly impressed. Everything in this resraurant is special the beautiful setting, the wonderful staff led by the very talented yet down to earth Chef and the amazing food....If you want to forget the world for a while and just enjoy the good things in life you should definitely come to Sens. The awesome food, the relaxed atmosphere and exceptional service will leave you happy and content. It's The Best in Switzerland! They also welcomed our yrs. old daughter like before and made sure that she is having a lovely time as well. The staff was very accommodating of our request esp when she asked for her desert earlier than expected. They delivered it with a big smile. You will be very surprised how different ingredients which are not usually combined can leave your palet craving for more. The wine pairings are also spot on. I like that they use the best local produce around Switzerland and have their own herb garden beside the restaurant. Chef Achtien's book will also make you appreciate this restaurant more. Thank you Sens for another magical meal.
The perfect combination of food, service and location, it hardly gets to be better. Surprising, perfectly balanced dishes served by the cuisine combined with an incredible view of the lake and the mountains.
Excellent food and service. Although it is a one Michelin star restaurant, the service and food are no less than a two-stars. If you haven't tried it as yet you might have missed something. The location is amazing especially the view of the sunset. Food...served has a lot of detail. Even the five-course tasting menu has so much to offer, we were wondering what would be the case if we had taken six- or seven-course menu.
