A local, iconic place. From food to service to the atmosphere, this place is a must to visit! Amazing fresh seafood served in many ways. The crab soup is the best you ever have. You should never come here and not have the soup. The service is wonderful. Friendliest wait staff and food exactly as you want. Whether a local or an out, if urban, do yourself a favor and stop for a meal View all feedback.
Food was pretty good, but we come from a coastal town in North Carolina and there are many options for us that are equal or better for less money. The service is great here, the food is plentiful, but there is not much competition around, so I think it is higher than it would be if it was not the only restaurant for several miles. Also the parking lot is large, but full of pots. I'm sorry I don't justify the 5 stars that many others give them, but don't give up because I
Came to lunch. they were the only place where we found that blue crab. I don't know who's in the kitchen, but they deserve a big price. these cocks were perfectly damped and had the right amount of old bay. They also served them not only butter, but also vinegar! that doesn't make many places. the staff was very friendly and friendly. if I didn't live 5 hours, I would be in every week!
Food was amazing. Early reviews of the soup were right. It was great. The service was wonderful and we left filled. Will be safe next time in the area. Don't miss this hidden jewel.
All the reviews are true!! This place is amaziiiing! We went to two places closer to the happenin part of VA Beach but they were so crowded and the wait was so long we said forget it and drove the extra 15 to Margie Ray?s. It was worth the drive. We sat outside in the porch area. The digs are nothing fancy. The ambiance isn?t either but the waitresses are excellent and the food is spot on! She crab soup. Yes honey. So good. I got the seafood platter with 3 options I don?t remember what it?s called. Also they do have a full bar and cocktails. That?s what we really wanted was a place that had some good drinks and it was hard to figure out from the reviews or their website if they served drinks but yes they do! And they?re delicious and a good deal! I took a pic of the drink menu if that helps.
Had been here more than once before to have their famous blue crabs but this go round was for Saturday morning breakfast!Place was packed as usual but got our table pretty quick. Everything came out as ordered and looked and tasted great.Their breakfast menu has plenty of traditional options from pancakes to specialty omelets. They also have plenty of Benedict’s to choose from and all the traditional breakfast meat options that you would find in the south! Got the Whirlpool which is just all kinds of things piled on each other. Potatoes had good flavor which can sometimes be hard to find at breakfast joints that serve them in this style. Corn beef hash is canned but still good, of course. Benedict’s come out looking divine. Liked that the menu had tons of options and the prices weren’t too bad. With it being a packed house, service lagged but still was friendly and as quick as possible under the circumstances.Parking: Plenty of parking on the side, so much parking that it seems deceiving that they can even hold that many people inside.
