This restaurant was a pleasant surprise. I was hoping for unique drinks with great flavor and I wasn't disappointed. The drinks here are fantastic! Then the food arrived and it was just as exceptional as the drinks! I highly recommend this restaurant! View all feedback.
What Mariah O doesn't like about Civil Libation:
The service was satisfactory, but the dishes we ordered – the tuna appetizer and salmon main course – were somewhat disappointing. We're hoping that we just came on a bad day. The atmosphere was average, with a dark and slightly pretentious bar vibe. View all feedback.
Our dinner was wonderful! Our waitress was very helpful with our choices of dishes and she did not steer us wrong. We enjoyed some of what I believe are their best menu options. From creative cocktails to a fantastic dessert! The scallops were delicious and delicately cooked. The beet salad was light and tangy. My steak was tender and full of flavor with a chimichurri that had a little kick. I loved the sweet potato fries with the cherry bbq dipping sauce! The cinnamon bun bread pudding was the icing on the cake! The cocktails were amazing and one wasn’t enough. The atmosphere is casual and they are kid friendly, but this is a high end foodie restaurant that is great for a date or a night out with friends.Vegetarian options: Several great vegan options
Food and atmosphere was perfect. Server was attentive but not too pushy. Why don’t I eat here more? It can get busy so choose your time wisely or reserve. Hats off the the chef! Busy is good!Food: 5/5
This is an amazing place! I'm so sad we didn't know about this place until today! The cocktail menu is AMAZING! My wife has a ton of food allergies and was able to eat here without having to ask for any modifications! We are in VA Beach every few months and will be making this a regular spot to stop at!Food: 5/5
Such a delicious and unique brunch locale. Dill pickle deviled eggs, butternut squash donut holes, various mimosa flavor combinations that work better than expected. For those who need a more typical brunch, there's french toast, pancakes, steak and eggs, omelets, and bennys. Thoroughly enjoyed my meal both here and the sister restaurant across the parking lot, Whiskey Kitchen. Well worth a visit, or 3.
Fun restaurant, felt a lot trendier than what you’d expect to find around here! Great portion sizes. My mushroom and scallop risotto was very good, but just slightly undercooked. The drink menu looked amazing, will definitely be trying a cocktail next time.
