A local family owns this Walkup soft serving Oldtimer, which was opened in 1965. The menu has remained much the same throughout the years, with vanilla, chocolate and Twist Softserve in the core. In recent years they have 18 flavors of hard ice (always with a sugar-free taste in the mix), with Philadelphia water ice cream. What Jenna Turnbull doesn't like about Milky Way Ice Cream Mini Golf:
Went for mini golf, played 2 holes and it started to thunder and lightning. Asked the girl for a refund she said nope asked for a voucher she said nope. She was extremely rude and snarky. The manager came out and gave us vouchers to go back but honestly won’t return anyways. Got ice cream on the way out and the popsicle was freezer burnt as well. View all feedback.
Waitaminute. Ice cream treats and old school mini golf?! Rock on. Visiting in Cape May, North Cape May or the Villas? Milky Way makes for a fantastic family outing. The ice cream is great and comes from a non-chain, such as the Ben Jerry's and DQ down in Cape May proper. And mini golf! The course is wacky, and even a little dated, but is clean and fun. As an added bonus for voyeurs and fans of Chef Ramsay alike, you get a good view into the kitchen of the Fish Fancy restaurant next door. (Here's a hint, the second part of its name is a lie. A quick word of caution. Milky Way has a tight parking lot. Everything else is out of this world.
Best ice cream in Cape may hands down. The girls who serve are so sweet and will accommodate any requests extra sprinkles). I've never seen a line longer than 5 people unlike alot of places in CM purple house and dry dock). The have a variety of shakes and Sundays, pretty much anything you could want. There's also a little golf course out back. Only downside is not alot of parking.
Love this place. I've been coming here since I was kid in the 80's. Brings back wonderful memories. Now I bring my kids here and they love it. Simple but good.
Great service, delicious sundae combinations, fun mini golf (good for family night), good prices
So at the end of the July 4 weekend, I pull into Milky Way on Sunday July 5th to get an ice cream for my two hard working teenagers who have toughed out a long holiday weekend serving vacationers who are not always patient and kind. We arrive at Milky Way at 9:54pm. Granted they close at 10, but it is a walk up soft ice cream business and it takes only minutes to fill a cone with ice cream. We are IN THE PARKING LOT and the employees turn off the lights. There are two groups of people sitting on various picnic tables eating their just served ice cream. I pulled out of my parking spot and paused in front of the walk up windows (that is the only way out of the parking lot). I had half a mind to call the owner the next day...until I see him putting the trash out and re-entering the tiny building. That is no way to treat the locals. We ARE your business. I am more than happy to take my money to Mr Softee down the street forever. Thanks for nothing.
