This restaurant deconstructs tradicional Colombian food and with a twist produces some very creative and delicious dishes. It deserves to be on the list of best restaurants in Colombia. It is unpretentious but it is not. It is casual yet formal. It is a lovely...place with excellent service and food. There is small wine list, including a red and a white produced locally. Wé had the white and I think it is more suitab... View all feedback.
What Fortunata Greco doesn't like about Restaurante Mercado Municipal:
Definitely the best food we've had in Villa de Leyva; however, for some reason unbeknownst to us, our waiter left halfway through the meal. We waited… And we waited… And waited until we found that our waiter had actually left. They said, "He'll left but will be coming back soon." Ha! Needless to say, we skipped dessert and refused to pay a tip. View all feedback.
I was glad that I had read a previous contribution that noticed that the hunch had crispy skin and damp meat. I ordered this and found it. the kartoffels of the maish were very dense and cheesy and somewhat addicted. my man had the pork chops and they were pretty good, but a little dry. we enjoyed the mary Leyva cocktail and actually had one as our postre! service was very friendly and courteous, especially after I had asked to move tables because of smoke from the grill directly into me.
I was glad I had read a previous post that noted the chicken had crispy skin, and moist meat. I ordered this, and found that was the case. The mashed potatoes were very dense and cheesy, and somewhat addictive. My husband had the pork chops...and pronounced them fairly good, but somewhat dry. We thoroughly enjoyed the Mary Leyva cocktail, and actually had one as our postre! Service was very friendly and accommodating, especially after I asked to move tables due to smoke from the grill blowing right into me.
Excellent and authentic food, the service was very professional and the way the waitress explain the menu was so interesting.
That was my favorite restaurant, probably all over the country, but last time I went a big disappointment, it was so bad that I didn't even know where to start, we visited the sa april 19th: the staff is incredibly rude that. believers who are responsible for taking people at the entrance, can not get up with the people, we arrived 15 minutes ago, we asked to wait for us to take place. after 15 minutes I asked again and stressed that we had a baby so boarding was a kind of urgent, he asked for 15 minutes more and we were in order, 10 minutes later he began to ask people who kept getting after us, and we began to annoy, 30 minutes later (that is a total time waiting for 45 minutes he comes back to say the reservations should be accommodated for 1:30 than! I stood up and spoke to the guy who raised his voice and said it wasn't his fault and there were no tables available (he only asked 2 more families to come in, I told him again, we were there since 12:45 and still nothing, and finally we got a table around 1:40 pm (almost an hour later with a 17 months baby! as soon as we got in, the waitress did not show up, we asked a person to bring us drinks and refused that this was not her table, we asked another person and she said that despite this she would not like to help her table. (can remember their names, but they were amazing eating came, burger was extremely fat, oil everywhere. thai bark ribs were cold and terrible, lulo juice was terrible, and the guac as starter was bland türkei barbacoa was really good overall, eating was bad, service was moderate, and ambience was badly worse than now they have the place with tables really close to them.
Alert food poisoning! we went to christmas with my share and booked the Christmas menu, the result was food poisoning with labor analysis saying that was bad handling of pork
