Chiba Sushi - Victoria

They put Chinese 5 spices in everything! Their food is Chinese version of Japanese. Their Ramen was the worst I ever had, and I could not finish it (for the first time in my life!). The service was slow and inattentive. Sorry, but if you like real a Japanese food, don't go there.

Had dinner here in June with hubby and son. Our meal was excellent. All of us were very pleased with our meal. The food looked and tasted wonderful. Service was very good and our server was very attentive. Food was quickly brought out. I would definitely eat here again and highly recommend this eatery to all.

I was really not expecting this level of food, given the area it is located. Not that it is a bad area at all but there was a whole row of vacant spaces next to it and it is slightly out of the main downtown area in strip mall land. On top of that, the service was great.There were 4 of us, and we sampled all kinds of stuff including: Katsu Don, Asparagus cooked in butter and garlic, spicy tune roll, miso soup, BBQ Squid, local Sockeye salmon Sashimi, Pumpkin Croquettes, and they were all fantastic and at a very reasonable price. The fish was fresh! Very hard to beat for the price, and hard to beat at a higher price. I would say go for it if you are anywhere nearby! In fact I would go out of my way to eat here.

We were a party of 3, and vacationing nearby on Gorge Rd. We stopped at Chiba Sushi for lunch, and had sushi, sashimi, miso soup, tempura. It was all excellent quality and the service was also excellent.

Dining here will make all other Sushi restaurants pale in comparison. Decor could use a renew. Looks are definitely not important. The sushi is superb! BBQ squid = Yum! So many great rolls to choose from.
