The setting is spectacular, and the service was exceptional. Our husbands had burgers for lunch which were perfectly prepared to order, with wonderful French fries. My friend and I both had fish tacos which were just OK. The corn tortillas were soggy and the fish was a bit dry. They should improve on that item. The setting, and the service made up for a lot! What User doesn't like about Heaton's Vero Beach:
I should have paid more attention to the fact that this is a much more casual restaurant. When my wine came in a plastic cup, I realized my mistake. I did ask for a wine glass and was accommodated. The food was average. The crab and artichoke dip was more pasty flour dance than crab and artichoke. Unfortunately it was a rainy, stormy evening and although covered, the roof leaked throughout dinner View all feedback.
We live close by and love going to Heaton's for a relaxed lunch. The entertainment is always top-notch, making it a great spot to hang out with some drinks. The Vero Beach Hotel is a high-end venue, so you can expect top-notch quality and fair prices.
I decided to go back on a Saturday afternoon in March for lunch to stay out of the sun. Unfortunately, the bar tenders were overwhelmed and it took a long time to be served. I didn't receive my lunch until almost an hour after ordering. However, I have to commend them for their efforts - they called for help, apologized to every patron, and even comped some drinks including mine. The food was still great and the staff was friendly, so I would consider returning, but definitely not on a Saturday.

Two friends and I enjoyed a Friday night out with an excellent view of the ocean. Service, food and ambience were excellent. We each had a different fish choice each to our liking; Mahi, Swordfish and the evening special Snapper. Along with our chosen side it indeed was enough but not too much.
