Poivre Rouge - Verdun

This is a slightly out of town eatery close to the Ibid Budget hotel. One of a few it is popular with a varied menu. While not outstanding staff are friendly and efficient. Food is ok and reasonably priced.

Excellent service and a sensible choice of well prepared food at a good price. Ideal for a meal whilst staying at the surrounding budget hotels

The buffet looked tired, the service was ok .We could not find anything exciting on the menu .It was acceptable for the occasion

We ate here whilst staying overnight at the Ibis Budget hotel just a couple of minutes walk away. One member of staff spoke English which helped and we were provided with English menus. Buffet starter provided good choice of salads, meats and seafood. We all had burgers which were very tasty. We ate off set menu at around 15 Euros per head for two courses which was good value. We wouldn't go out of our way to go back but were happy with this as a convenient option on an overnight stop.

Staying at the nearby Ibis hotel this place provided a very convenient dining spot. Little English was spoken but that's not unusual in our experience. This is the sort of place where there are photos on the menu which helped. Remember this is essentially a charcoal grill menu so don't expect cordon-bleu. But after a very long drive the steaks and other grills proved excellent and were very well cooked. The buffet starter is excellent value including fresh prawns and pates as well as many different salads and cold vegetables. Wines by the glass were low cost vin de table or slightly better. All in all a good place for steak or a mixed grill and very close to the Ibis...and residents get a small discount!
