Wabi On Rose - Venice Beach

The service at this restaurant was dreadful. It was obvious that the waitress was eager to leave and go home. While I understand that everyone has tough days at work, her complete lack of concern for providing good service and making us feel welcome was evident. She disappeared when we needed assistance, so we had to ask someone else to help us pay. As we were taking photos outside the restaurant, our waitress suddenly appeared and demanded to know where we had put the bill, assuming we had not paid and were trying to leave without settling it. This embarrassing incident completely ruined our dining experience.

Beautiful location, excellent mix of trendy sushi with classic thai. Highly recommend- service a little snooty

No need to mention names, as it was nothing personal, but the server we had could care less about us sitting in his section. Honestly, the waitstaff would benefit from watching the personality, performance, and attentiveness of the busser in that section. Kindness, care, and experience was A+ when it came to that busser. This is not an opinion. This is factually what it was: Our waiter sitting at an empty table(I hope he was okay) while the busser beamed, represented food service, and saved us from taking off. Someone in management please acknowledge him. You can tell in the system whose section we were in, and what time we were there. I have been told about this restaurant by 2 people. They said to bring my out of town parents here. Food quality was an A. But I don’t think I’d go back. Am I alone here?

The ambiance was great, our server was great but the food was not as great as i remembered from several years ago. I was surprised as i remember the quality of the food being much better in previous years.

We've been to Wabi multiple times. This time we requested a table in the sidewalk area. It was a great spot to dine. Still fun yet the noise level way down. The bar and restaurant areas are packed with trendy looking people. The drinks were all excellent. Boozy and tasty. The grilled vegetables were excellent, would probably skip the sashimi platter and just order the rolls. They were all so good. Overall, fun place!
