What 647kj doesn't like about Cucina Del Tentor:
Tasting menu 35€ 3courses excluding dessert. Tiny portions, dishes without a soul, traditional flavours missing and not replaced by a contemporary touch. We had the feeling not being welcome. We tried to make a reservation by phone, but nobody picked up, we tried several times..we even e-mailed. No response. When we passed the restaurant, we Found it empty entered and they asked us if we were the foreigners that call... View all feedback.
Taste menu for 35 euro per person. 3 courses. For the pasta by with shrimps we had 2 shrimps each. For the main course Branzino with potato’s We had a 1/4 of a fish each.... but the potato’s was great.... no words for the value.....
The decor promised more than the kitchen delivered. Small portions of bland food at an inflated price. When my wife and I (just the two of us) asked for two different pasta dishes we were told that the kitchen could only supply one dish at a time. The owner suggested that we share each dish in sequence and although I declined that offer because I didn’t like some of the ingredients in one of the dishes both dishes were spilt anyway. So neither of us got what we wanted. I had opted for the ragu which was bland and underwhelming. Not a great experience.
We happened across this hidden gem when we didn 't get a table at another highly rated restaurant nearby. This is a fairly new restaurant, so it hasn 't got that Tripadviser buzz yet. Iit 's a bit off the beaten track, so when we arrived there was just one table of patrons there. The decor is quite hip and modern, unlike most venetian restaurants. Our waiter had that laidback cool, but professional vibe. The menu is short and simple, and changes often, depending on available local produce. This is a very good thing. It is therefore no point in detailing the specific dishes we had, other than to assure you that they were all exquisite. In addition, the waiter had excellent wine suggestions, mostly natural wines from the region. Finally: the prices are incredibly low for the quality they offer. Do seek out this restaurant, and don 't be afraid to make it an all-night experience. You won 't regret it!
Small choice, but excellent quality.
