Ksheer Sagar - Varanasi

Really delicious sweets here. We had the pedas , the rasgulla and the barfi. I really liked the barfi because it was soft and rich. The have a great array of sweets which is of good quality !

Ksheer Sagar – Sweets at its best So I happened to visit my maternal grandparents after a decade. And as was customary I had to carry sweets to every house I visited, be it my aunts, uncles, cousins or anybody else. I was told that the ‘Ksheer Sagar’ are the best in town and hence I could not give it a miss. I visited the one at Sonarpura and tasted almost everything off the shelf. It was amazing. My personal favorites were Kheer Chamcham, Kheer Kadam, Samosas, Dhoklas, Kesari Malpua and Doodh Chamcham. I was also told that due to rising popularity in the town they have even opened up a couple of franchisee outlets. Good for them and good for its patrons. A good taste is always appreciated by food connoisseurs.

The timing of my train was arriving, and we made our way to Kheer Sagar, one of the most famous sweet shops of the city. We packed quite a bit of it, but it is here that I had one of the most amazing Dahi Vada of my life. Infused with ginger flakes and chili rings, the combination was irresistible. Another unmissable item in Benares.
