The restaurant is cozy with limited seating and an open kitchen. I dined there during the summer when foot traffic was low, making the outdoor seating quite pleasant. The waitress frequently checked on us (most patrons appeared to be seated outside) and ensured we were well-hydrated by refilling our water often. The price ranged from $25 to $35 per person, which is on the higher side, but the food quality and portion sizes made it worth it. I would definitely recommend this place and look forward to returning with friends to share this gem.
I ordered roti with curry sauce, pad thai with shrimp, and ka na mu grob (rice with crispy pork). The food was fantastic! This is my second time ordering Thai food from here, and they always impress! We truly enjoyed every bite!
A hidden gem? Absolutely! This small, cozy restaurant has just enough space for eight diners. While the decor is simple, the food is both authentic and delicious. They definitely know how to spice their dishes with real Thai heat, so if you can’t handle the heat, be sure to let them know ahead of time so they can adjust the spice level for you. I visited for the first time today, and I can confidently say this will be a regular spot for me!
I must admit that Thai food isn't usually my go-to option, as many local restaurants I've visited often make the dishes overly sweet for my liking. However, after hearing excellent reviews about a relatively new Thai restaurant in Kitsilano called Unchai, which is praised for its less sweet offerings, I was excited to give it a shot.
A hidden gem located just off Broadway and Burrard. After passing by so many times and noticing how busy it always was, I decided to give it a try. To start, I had the roti with curry, which was a delightful snack. It was crispy yet soft, and the curry was quite tasty as well. For my main dish, I ordered the pork pad see ew, and it turned out to be one of the best stir-fried noodles I've ever tasted. The flavors were vibrant, and the pork and vegetables blended perfectly. Lastly, the chicken wings were decent; the skin was nicely fried, but the meat was a bit dry. The sauce and flavor, however, were spot on. I would highly recommend their pad see ew!
