Since I've moved, I've struggled to fill the coffee void in my heart that used to be made whole by Ratios and company (I miss you all so much). Quantum Coffee is a strong contender and reminded me of all I loved and am lacking from coffee chains. Their decor is tasteful and minimalist, which is perfect for a coffee-fueled study session or a good time spent with a book. The baristas are friendly and willing to help gauge your needs and the coffee is just right. However, this isn't the ideal place to study as laptop-designated areas are a small area in front of the windows that can accommodate laptops and nothing else; not perfect for the average student.

Toronto-based Quantum Coffee just opened their second location, stretching their legs into downtown Vancouver at Granville West Hastings. For the coffee-curious, this is a must-try. Simply because you gotta check out what we’re calling A.I.B. (aka Artificially Intelligent Barista).

H and I have attended seven weddings in the span of 8 months this year. We started this season off in February for K&T, April for J&V, end of May for A&G, July for C&J, August for A&M, September for R&B (which we only attended half of anyways… , and finally, yesterday, for K&M. Congratulations to all the newly weds of 2017!

Perhaps it is more than just another cheesecake shop - it offers excellent coffee and delicious pastries (I had the chocolate croissant.) It is located at the corner of Fir and West Broadway.
