I went here recently with friends and really enjoyed myself. It was full and lively even on a Tuesday night. It's part of an east vancouver area that is being gentrified so The Heatley fits nicely into the neighbourhood because it has a faux gritty hipster, eclectic vibe. The drink selection was just ok; not as many craft beer and cider options as expected for this kind of establishment but everyone found something they liked and the food was good, service prompt and thoughtful. I especially liked the ambience and decor; they have some very cool wall murals. Worth making the effort to get to if you aren't from the neighbourhood.

I've been to the Heatley 3 times within the past 13 months. It's a fun, cool, hipster hangout along East Hastings with local craft beer, some delicious food on the menu, and the occasional live music gig happening. It's clear they love music here. Also, I've been quite impressed with the food. The pulled pork sandwich with salad and fries really hit the spot. I'd recommend going if you're in the neighbourhood. Go with friends and go for the live music. The service, though friendly and well-meaning, can sometimes be a bit head-in-the-clouds, although I'd argue it's because it always looks like they're short staffed even when it's busy.
