Forget the name, but we had the pizza with a salad on top. Slightly unusual, but very good. Just large enough to share for small appetites, big enough for a large appetite. Tasty, well done, wood fired pizza. Definitely go again. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Mercante UBC:
Ordered the Al Pesto here which is 8 slices and cost cad11.-/ While its oven baked, it tasted average and was in fact a tad too salty. Staff was helpful as well. View all feedback.

My friend and I were at UBC to see a performance at the Chan Centre. It was -4 and many of the restaurants were closed. We asked a student walking by for the nearest restaurant and he kindly walked us to Mercante. It was crowded (probably due to the lack of other restaurants open). The gentleman at the cash register was friendly. We waited a long time and were considering offering our pizza to someone when the lady working the oven asked us our number and quickly made it for us. We hightailed it back to the Chan and ate it in the lobby. The pizza was delicious and still hot. We felt the price was fair for our meal. The rating is based on the quality of the food. I think it is a bit unfair to rate the service as I wonder whether they knew the other restaurants were closed. For a Saturday night, it was surprising that even TripleOs and Tim Hortons were closed.
Yesterday I got there around 8 pM, there was no choice other than margarita and when I came back home you can see the quality at the picture when you turn over the pizza !!!, " terribly bad" Will never buy again from Marcanta for sure.
I love pizza. I would eat it everyday of the week if I could. I particularly like it cold at breakfast. Pretty much any pizza will do.I'm no pizza snob. I was visiting Vancouver, staying on UBC campus and Mercante was just across the way. It was packed with students, so I thought I would give it a try. I ordered the Prosciutto pizza recommended by the cashier. What a mistake. What a soggy, disgusting mess. It was topped with raw prosciutto after it came out of the oven (I like my toppings crispy) in big long pieces you can bite through, a big glob of cheese in the middle, and drowned in olive oil. The crust was doughy and limb. First time ever I can say I had a pizza that was pretty much inedible.
