Authentic delicious sushi with fresh ingredients. Very friendly service. They also have a large gluten free menu and gluten free soy sauce available which is so appreciated by us celiacs! I crave this sushi often and go to Hitoe any time I am in Vancouver. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Hitoe Sushi Japanese Restaurant:
The place is decent, don't expect anything fancy or cozy, it is very easy going. Booking is a requirement cause there are few tables. The food was good, fish was fresh and portions are ok. We have salad, a miso soup, nighiri, and some rolls. Prices are on average. It's a good place where to have a meal if you are in the nearby. The only big cons was dining close to the kitchen, so we got out smelling like as we have... View all feedback.
You have veggie miso soup and some beautiful roles! Even Veg-Ramen, although I didn't try.
I just have great things to say about my meal in Hitoe. The aromas were wonderful, the textures were perfect and everything was very fresh. I had the seaweed salad and shared some edamame and veg gyoza to begin and then went to Cuke reels, yam tempura roll, and inari nigiri. For me, Yam-Tempura reels are a good test (not too large, not too dry, freshly roasted tempura) from the point of view of the Veg-Sushi and these are handed over with flying colors. The servers were friendly and handed over from our table regularly with refilling of tea and water and additional orders. I wish I lived in Vancouver so I could go more often.
I loved the veggie combo. It was beautifully plated and had some delicious combinations that I had not seen before. Very recommended!
I think I was just unlucky, but by the time the food arrived the hot dish was cold and the sushi wasn’t cold at all, if anything it was warm. The delivery driver handed me the hot and cold dishes on top of each other, so if they had been like that for the journey then maybe that’s why the sushi wasn’t cold, I’ve no idea why you’d transport hot and cold dishes together. I’m sure if eating in the food is fine, but when you pay a lot for a delivery service, you expect the same quality.
We purchased take out at the place. The place inside is small but has a great atmosphere and calmness, and lovely Japanese tunes. The food was absolutely excellent. They have a separate gluten free menu with all options. We had several special rolls, and some A5 Wagyu nigiri, as well as two big platters (normal and vegetable). Everything was super tasty and high quality!Dietary restrictions: Gluten free
