Great staff, friendly manager and delicious tacos! You have to venture into blood alley to get there but it is soooo worth it!We tried the steak and pork tacos and both were sensational View all feedback.
What Kenton Cassin doesn't like about Gringo:
This is Mexican food made by gringos and it shows. I ordered a quesadilla that was a soggy mess by the time I got to the second half of it. The rice was cold and flavorless. The worst part was the service. I sat right at the bar and all 3 servers tried SO hard not to make eye contact with me. Gave me a water and didn't come back for 10 minutes. Brought me food and didn't ask how it was. Took my plate and then proceed... View all feedback.
Good time and good moods. Our server Jess was beautiful and gave us the perfect recommendations for food and drink. In any case, Tacos and drinks would come back for some late night. I prefer the pork tacos over the austin(beef). Nor would it be known that it was in the middle of a alley.
Such a little hidden jewel of a place! The food was delicious, the staff was so friendly and the atmosphere was great. Beautiful little tomb of a alley that gave him a quirky feeling. All our party enjoyed their food, and I liked the relaxed dining environment. If you are looking for an affordable yet delicious place for Mexican cuisine, this is your place! I am also vegetarian and they had delicious veggie options!
Great food, quirky and fun vibe! attentive and friendly staff. I was a few times and I always look forward to going back. You also have a margarita bucket and cocktails come with small candy. Literally nothing to love in this place!
What a vibe!!! From the music to the decor, everything felt so intentional and well curated. My friend had a spiked michelada, I had a bourborita both were fantastic. So well balanced and delicious. Cole was friendly and enthusiastic and our tacos were fresh and tasty. Will definitely be back on our next visit to Van.
I love everything about this place, from the great tacos to the sketchy blood alley hidden location that makes it feel very local, to the amusing decor. And the staff are great, super friendly. If I ever opened a taco shop, it would basically be this place. Only complaint is no more fish tacos, but cheap beer makes up for it. If you've been to the well known chain taco places, and not here, you owe it to yourself to drop in and get some brisket tacos asap.
