A lovely restaurant. Ambiance is charming and the cuisine is excellent. Traditional French food served with fresh ingredients and style. One sip of the bouillabaisse broth will take even the most fussy diner straight to Heaven. The rack of lamb was done to perfection. The crepes suzette is sublime. Came early on a Sunday night so was not busy. Upon entry friendly greeting by host who was also our server. She was extremely nice and friendly. Food was poor quality and unfresh. Ordered the burger, escargots, french onion soup, shrimp proc. Burger was extremely dry and was basically a patty and bun, fries were not fresh and hard. Went for dine out vancouver and the menu selection were so good. service was brilliant and eating delicious. weeping was on the square. I can't wait to go back. great value for money.

The atmosphere was nice, service was very good but the food was catastrophe.. we took a duck but the combination beans and bacon was disgusting and how it looked .. nothing from French gourmet

What a hidden gem! I'm amazed more people in Vancouver aren't talking about Alouette Bistro. Cocktails and Wine List are on point very knowledgeable staff. We enjoyed escargot (served classic style in the shell), tableside beef tartare which was one of the best I've ever tried, bone marrow, foie gras terrine, and a MASSIVE rack of lamb. The only thing that could have made it better is if we had had room for more food. The room is nicely appointed, noise level is quiet/medium, and I'm amazed that it wasn't packed based on the quality of both the service and the food. We'll be back for sure. Don't sleep on this place!!
