4th of July week end; Sunday Brunch.Service was exceptional ( Maria ) and the food was above average.Awesome view of the river and boats; sitting on the deck is best. The food would get 5 stars if it was all identifiable and the roast beef was carved thinner. All else; Great ! View all feedback.
What Lori Kihn doesn't like about Rio Brazilian Steakhouse:
To some it up... disappointed! Should have taken note from reviews. Place has potential. The entrees absolutely horrible. Ordered potato encrusted whitefish... potatoes not cooked was gross. Wife's beef medallions torched! The bread was excellent as well as the wine, other than that nothing great about this muer locationWill not be back View all feedback.
The meat selection was disappointing. for the Brazilian bbq we have expected more options. they only brought tri-tips, throw and huh.
I was in several Brazilian restaurants. we went to the Valentine's Day. because of covid the salatable is closed. you have to ask the waiter to bring the pages. a few times that was waiting for the sides a little long. hopefully the salat can come back soon. I loved the choice of meat, although some not a little seasonal on them. the ananas was delicious! it was nice to see the owner coming by and checking on the guests. it really showed that he took care of the experiences of his guests.
Not what I was hoping service was not the biggest, first I had to change my teller because the on the table were dirty, it took one because to change them, we were not even ordered water like any other restaurant, eating started...increase and we haven't yet come to take a drink order, meat choices were ok, we were just offered picanha once, brisket were a few times and the rest of the basic. if they have never been in a Brazilian bbq restaurant before they do not judge all on this basis, there are others that are very good. price was ok, I would have been willing to pay more for a better service.
It was such a nice evening I sat on the patio. I would say there was a real lack of décor. on the patio, though the inside looked more traditional. The food was served Brazilian style, servers walk around with skewers of different meats slicing...pieces off as requested. My table server seemed very inexperienced. I ordered the Rodizio (all-you-can-eat barbeque). I also ordered a glass of wine. I didn't get my wine until half way through my meal. The place was not very full. There was only one female server walking around with the meat. Because of a large group she emptied her skewers fairly often. She came out with different proteins each time so I had a good choice. She was always friendly, always came by my table when I had my green sign out and let me know what the meat was. I was disappointed when I found there was no lamb. I guess they only get their lamb deliveries on Fridays, and this was Wed. The meats were hit or miss. The Chicken Drumsticks and Pork were the best moist and tasty.. The beef cuts weren't seasoned. The Honey Garlic Roast was very good. The Top Sirloin was a bit tough, and the New York Strip was okay. The Sausage was a bit dry but okay. The Pork Ribs were terrible, they were moist but not grilled at all. The barbeque sauce overwhelmed the ribs. The fries were terrible. They were cool, and I am not sure what oil was used, they were also soggy. My sides that I ordered came out near the end of my meal. The Coleslaw was okay, but the Vinaigrette was awesome. It had the vinaigrette with fresh tomatoes, onions and a touch of cilantro. It would have made a big difference to my meal if I had gotten them sooner. About half way though my meal 2 other guys showed with skewers. They never smiled or told you what they were serving. Price was what to be for the experience, but the Brazilian ambience was definably missing. The servers, save one, did not connect with the customers. There was no fun of the Carnival. I would not recommend the Rio for anyone who has never had a Brazilian barbeque experience. Saying that, I left full, and in this day and age I will not run down any local restaurant struggling to survive.
They have two location one in Vancouver and one in Coquitlam , Vancouver location is on busy Denman Street , not much a decor , but clean ,airy , Covid 19 safety plan well performed ,maybe a week day ,place very quite , it is...all you can eat BBQ meat ,,before the pandemic ,this place is packed ,with lovely salad bar , now ,things lot different , it is nothing compared to the crows that used to dine here , but I like their concept , you have a card with red and green on both side ,red means not Now /Finished Green means I want MORE ,and the staff will bring the meat out on the long skewer ,and shave off the meat on to your dishes ,very professional ,, it is meat love heaven , I just like a cat among the pigeon 's ,of course ,with the price $39 .99 , it is reasonable , but do not compared Apple to Orange ,quality of the meat is not Melt in Your Mouth but still a good low quality , also there is a lot of side dishes , so you got to be hunger or a meat junkies like me , over all .it is lot different then any classic Steak House ,but it is fun to try it out ! I lost count how many pounds I ate ,special the Lamb ,it is so flavourful and juices , chicken legs little dry , but no complain , my two friends was amazing I ate so much ! friendly and helpful staff , happy and Full ,If I am in the area ,this place will be my first choice ! well recommenced it !
