Centrally locates and easy to find. Has adorable outdoor seating on the sidewalk, good AC inside, a full bar, and a ton of great vegetarian food, most of which can be mad vegan upon request with vegan cheese etc! We had the fajitas and they were amazing. We even got drinks for take away which was a nice way to go back to our airbnb.

U... read more I went to Gugar with the intention to have dinner one evening in Valletta. I ordered a beer and then sat down outside to drink it and have a look at the menu. Unfortunately the staff decided to essentially take the night off and sit outside on the stairs and hang out with the patrons chatting and yelling to one another. At one point some people arrived (they had to literally step over staff sitting on the steps to even get into the place) and the staff thought it was hilarious that the first thing they said was “do you do takeout” as they didn’t like vibe of the place. Needless to say I did not stay for dinner and would not recommend.

The interior decor is artsy and cozy and the girls behind the counter contribute significantly to the pleasant vibe.
