Contribute Feedback What Shreya Saha likes about Bong Flavours:
Bengali comfort food is there. And there are very very very few options of Bengali food in Vadodara and this one place is saviour. Starters like cutlets or fish fingers are good. Biriyani is decent. Mutton kosha is excellent. Chingri sorshe or vapa is excellent. Staffs are courteous. But in any of the festivals there could be a chaotic atmosphere but otherwise a calm and cool enjoyable ambiance. The staffs are good.... View all feedback.
Well, staying away from family and my loving City Kolkata, I always used to crave Bengali food. And finally found the place called Bong Flavours. Cute, clean and calm place for all Bengali food lovers, where you'll get veg and nonveg items separately. We ordered Chicken Kobiraji, Dimer Devil,Luchi and Chicken Kosha and ended up with Mishti doi. All the items are very delicious and yummy, once you take the bite you'll feel yourself in the streets of Bengal's. I must recommend this place to all the Barodians to try. And the Lady boss of the place is cherry on top...the humble and sweet lady who made my Mother's Day so special!!
I have recently shifted to Vadodara and got fortunate to know about Bong Flavours from one of my colleague. It was like rain in the parched desert. Authentic Bengali Food really cooked with passion. We had Dal, Bhat, macher jhol, aloo bhaja, biriyani, fish fingers. The service does take some time coz the food is prepared real time. Nothing is cooked beforehand. I have myself visited the kitchen. All the kitchen staff is Bengali. The owner, Kakoli boudi herself ensures that each and every customer who visits the restaurant relishes what is ordered and leaves the place satisfied just to return again and again. We also regularly order Kathi Rolls in office during Recruitment Drives via Zomato and Swiggy. Thank You Boudi for serving Authentic Bengal in Gujarat.
Good place to have Bengali Cuisine in Vadodara. You can have all regular Bengali food items here. The best part is that they have introduced the thali system for veg meal, egg meal, fish meal and chicken meal. Kolkata style Biriyani and Mutton kosha are delicious.
Finally Bong Flavours is back after a long time with the same authenticity and taste. Anyone craving for bengali food can understand the emotions which drags a bengali to Vadodara from Ahmedabad just to have some nostalgic flavours. We were there for dinner tonight and tried their: Fish finger: Each plate serves 6 fingers. Very flavourful. Although there was a bit heavy coating, the fish taste was prominent. And spices are extremely well balanced. Chicken kobiraji: Kobiraji is a cutlet coated with egg in a unique way. The cutlet was very flavourful same as the finger with a very good amount of chicken inside and the egg was wrapping the same just perfectly. Steamed rice: Nice and fluffy Bengali Muger dal: This might be the best muger dal I have had in a long time. That authentic taste of muger dal we used to love in biye barir lunch. Kurkure aloo bhaja: This aloo baja was definitely another reminder to kajer barir ranna. Aloo badam baja served with a fried sukno lonka. Bhetki posto: This item was suggested by Kakoli boudi and I am so glad she did. The bhetki was fresh and soft. The gravy was absolutely great. The combination of posto, kacha lonka and onion smelled and tasted heavenly. Roshogolla: nice and spongy and the sugar syrup had a very subtle sweetness. All the items available are served is very good quantity and can easily be sufficient for 2 people. At the same time the prices are extremely reasonable. I would like to recommend Bong Flavours to everyone who is craving or want to explore bengali food. Bengali cuisine can offer a large variety of veg options too. There is always something for every pallet.
Tried Bong Flavours. This is the first time I've been to a place that serves Bengali food and it was absolutely worth it. Had ordered mughlai paratha, fish cutlet and chicken drumsticks for starters. The paratha was completely different from what I have had previously (in a good way of course). The cutlet was crisp and had the right flavours in it. It reminded me of keema samosa that I used to have as a kid. The drumsticks tastes so amazing that I wanted to eat more but i was too full. Chicken kasha and rumali roti was such an amazing combination. I really like the place. Though it is a little far from where I stay but i can say that I'd visit it often now. The place is really quiet with the perfect music makes you feel at home. I am not exaggerating when I say that the food felt like home
