The main course was for those of us who grew up in the fifties. This place has what they called Manhattan Bratenbeef and, it's very good. It is a closed face hot roast beef sandwich scattered in engraving with homemade potatoes and homemade coleslaw. No skipping here by having an open face, these are closed face, excellent, beef was very delicate. The staff are very nice, they even have Formica table, also a Formica... View all feedback.
What Jared Call doesn't like about The Village:
Nice people, okay food, decor and furnishings are getting run down, several obviously rusty items. I had the broasted (not a typo) chicken and liked it. Peas were not so great, mashed potatoes were okay, pie had good flavor but was served chilled. My wife enjoyed her BLT and really liked the fries. We both got hot chocolate, hers was hotter but mine was tepid which was surprising. Not bad overall, not not great eithe... View all feedback.

I had the homemade coconut cream cake, best I had in years. I hear the roasted chicken is excellent the chicken is local and hand-baked here. You have a hamburger here called the big boy, I didn't try it today, but I definitely come back to give this sandwich an attempt
We had dinner with the family last night. We've never been here, so it's all new. If you enter, the specials are on a marker board (as well as in dining rooms for your comfort). The initial appearance is a beautiful warm home like feeling. Everything seemed clean. Our server “Alexis” was excellent!!! She was very attentive, never forgot about us and pursued with our demands... no problems. The food is phenomenal! I had the grill ribs (the boneless were tender). I have the homemade Makkaroni salad and Coleslaw, both very tasty!! Others at our party also enjoyed their meals. I highly recommend the “Killer Fudge Brownie” (I also give 100% on presentation of desserts) very delicious!! I was impressed by the menu printing and huge selection (not a deal breaker, but they do not serve alcohol). I recommend this restaurant and would definitely return when I'm back in the area. Thanks Alexis again!
The best food consistently! Great prices..big service.. only delicious! I wish they had more small tables or fluffy people friendly stands. I feel bad to sit at a table for a large group for only 2 or 3 people, but if we are heavier, we don't want to be cut into the table while we eat at a stand.
Very nice restaurant, the waitress was very nice and the food was absolutely delicious. We will definitely eat again here. It's worth the hour drive.
Great home cooked food. Family style restaurant. Great food. Great service. Nice hidden joint in town. Location is not far off US 30. Must stop. We will stop here anytime we come through Upper Sandusky.
