This is a hidden gem on a U-City side street (Melville Avenue) which runs into the Chuck Berry Statue on Delmar Avenue. Its neighbors on Delmar are Vintage Vinyl and Blueberry Hill. I can't recall how I heard of this place, but it was on my list to visit. They did not disappoint! The food is freshly prepared, served hot and fast. The staff is friendly and polite. I had the Beef Bulgogi Bowl for lunch at the restauran... View all feedback.
What Thomas Ahn doesn't like about Bobq:
I used to come here regularly but it seems the og cooks have left because now the food is either burnt, not seasoned well, or made with subpar meat. The portions have too much rice compared to everything else. I wish they had ssamjang for the classic Korean barbeque experience. View all feedback.
Honestly, best on the go Korean food on the block! Considering its size and for what it is, you can't beat the simple menu and their delicious options. All meats are marinaded well and are pretty flavorful. I tried every single item on the menu and didn't find anything that I didn't like, almost as if I was in Seoul eating authentic kbbq. The owner is very friendly and greets everyone with courtesy. The staff also takes time to explain the ingredients and what the hot commodities are with first time customers. Every little detail is intentional from the interior design of the store to the littlest flavors in the food. This is truly a place to enjoy good Korean food so if you're looking for kbbq, this is it!

We tried the spicy pork and beef bulgogi bowl, we loved it!
Huge fan of this place. In the photo is their spicy and sweet tofu bowl, which is my favorite thing they offer. And the rice with a hint of sesame oil is outstanding.
So I did a Google search for Korean restaurants near me. Bobq appeared and I stopped. This ended up being my best visit of the day. Simple menu but the food was excellent! I met the owner who was working the grill. He makes his own kimchi!!! Great place. Most definitely a five star stop
